Breakfast in Hotel No13
The hotel is located in the city centre. It was easy to reach from the airport at midnight; I took the tram No. 1 (every 15 minutes) during the night for 40 Krone (the ticket is for 90 minutes and is saved on your payment card). There are no toilets on board. It takes around 40 minutes to reach the city centre, and you have to travel to your last stop. The hotel was 5 minutes walk from the tram stop. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff members were polite, cheerful, and helpful during my stay. My room was a good size, with a double bed and a spacious, large bathroom. I got a fridge and hair dryer with two pairs of slippers (a nice touch). The mattress was so comfortable that it was very hard to leave bed in the morning. I also liked the breakfast, which had a good variety of options for me: boiled beans, fried eggs, and fried potatoes, among other available menu items. The dock is nearby and within 7 minutes walk from where Fjords tours run in the morning and other walking tours (5–10 minutes). There are a lot of convenient stores, restaurants, and fast food chains around the hotel. I am not sure about the quality of noise cancellation between rooms, but a small bit is expected. Also, the late check-out facility is available at a reasonable rate per hour. The way back to the airport is using the same tram No. 1 and from the same stop.

The main reason my friend and I got this room is because there's an actual separation between the two twin beds. Almost every hotel in Norway defines a "double room" as two separate beds, pushed together (so as to defeat the purpose of asking for a room with two beds, and, as far as I can tell, baffle Americans). This room actually had a few feet between the twin beds. Beyond that: Perfect location, walking distance from everything you want to see in Bergen. Staff was super friendly, lobby is classy. Breakfast buffet was amazing, high quality, and had so many options (although that's common at a lot of hotels in Norway). The bathroom was sparkly clean and had really nice, locally branded toiletries. One thing: one of the walls in the bathroom shower is a mirror. The whole thing. Do with that information what you will.

This hotel was very convenient to all the sites we planned to visit. We walked from the rail station off Norway in a Nutshell. We easily walked to the Fishmarket, the funicular, the Bryggen, RosenKrantz Tower, etc. The plaza was a pleasant place to relax. We caught the Lightrail easily to the airport. On top of it all, the barceptionist was exceptional. He easily pointed us in the right direction and looked up things if we had a question he wasn’t sure about. Lastly, the breakfast was also such a lovely addition.

Very stylish boutique place, great breakfast, good beds and shower and nice family room (for 2 adults and 2 teenagers) and friendly staff. Also located conveniently right in the center and close to a big underground parking garage (Klostergarasjen) at which you get a 15% discount if staying at the hotel.

Location cannot be beaten. Very friendly staff. Good selection of breakfast items in a comfortable and relaxed setting. Soundproofed room was very peaceful.
